Frequently asked questions
- Should I go?
- Yes!
- Can I submit an abstract for work that is under submission?
- Yes, from our part. The submission is not for a publication, but for a lightning talk on any subject you want your peers from the region to learn about.
- Can I submit work that has been published?
- Yes.
- Are only professors allowed to submit?
- No. In fact, we encourage students to submit and present!
- Can a submission have multiple authors?
- Yes, please put the presenter as the first author.
- Are all submissions going to be accepted?
- Not necessarily. We will judge all submissions for quality and, if there are more eligible submissions than slots for the day, we will have to select a subset.
- Can I go if I don’t submit anything or if my talk proposal doesn’t get accepted?
- Yes! But notice that spots are limited, and you must register!
- Posters: Will easels be provided that are long enough to hang a 44″ wide poster? Can I bring a rolled up poster? How will I fix it?
- We will provide easels, backing, and thumbtacks for posters. Poster dimensions should be at most 841 x 1189mm (33x46in), and both portrait and landscape orientation.
- Where should I park my car?
- While there are no special arrangements for event parking, you can check this page for general BU parking information. Granby Lot and Kenmore Lot are the closest to the venue.
- What happens after the event?
- There is no official gathering after the event, but a good place to go grab a bite and a drink afterwards is Boston Beer Works on 61 Brookline. Another place for fine cocktails is the Hawthorne Bar, located at 500 A Commonwealth Avenue.
